EvE^® Online is a science fiction online video game featuring (among many other things) a very strong and realistic demand / supply based economy. Its markets data have been used to create several market graphs.

Forex Tester™ is one of the best trading simulators available. It is a quite faithful Metatrader™ replica that lets perspective traders thoroughly test their methods and strategies. You specify a currency to load inside the software and it will transparently download the data from the software house’s facilities. Several data feed options are available. The trading method teached in this course works with the free feed just fine. Like a true trading platform it lets you place orders including multi-targets, add studies, simulates spread and many, many other features it’s too long to list.

MetaTrader™ is one of, if not the most widespread trading platforms in the world. It’s usually provided for free by most Forex brokers. It’s fast, it’s robust, it got the right amount of features without the bloat that affects other platforms.

MultiCharts^® Discretionary Trader™ is the free “end of day data” version of the renowed professional charting software and trading platform called MultiCharts^®. It is extensively used in this course to show analyses made on market data extracted off EvE^® Online.

EvE^® Online Market Discussion Forum is the place where traders across EvE^® Online meet and discuss about markets, trading, investments, stocks and much more.

EvE Marketeer is an EvE^® Online markets data, statistics and graphing web site, one of the most advanced of the category. The author of this course has used some of its data export facilities as input to the MultiCharts^® Discretionary Trader™ platform and generate the posted EvE^®market candle bar graphs. This web site features an Eve Marketeer review and data export how to detailing how to achieve that.

Experiment #01: RL finance analysis applied to EvE is the EvE^® Online thread is where this trading method is described and partly teached. It’s a long term project started on the old EvE^®forums as simple experiment about applying real securities markets methods to trade the in game EvE^®commodity markets. Past a certain point, the trading method explained by this course has replaced the others and now is the only one proposed.

1 (OHLC)

Open, High, Low, Close (and sometimes Volume) data, is a finance industry standards format used to represent price evolution during a certain period of time (daily, weekly, hourly...). OHLC data are consumed by financial analysis applications and by charting software to represent price action.

1 (audit)

The general definition of an audit is an evaluation of a person, organization, system, process, enterprise, project or product.

1 (Meta game)

Meta gaming is a broad term usually used to define any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. Another definition refers to the game universe outside of the game itself.

1 (emergent)

Emergent gameplay refers to complex situations in video games, board games, or table top role-playing games that emerge from the interaction of relatively simple game mechanics.

1 (sandbox)

A sandbox game is a type of video game design where a player can roam freely through a virtual world and is given considerable freedom in choosing how or when to approach objectives. Sandbox emphasises a paradigm where, as in a physical sandbox, the user is entertained by his ability to do as they wish creatively and with there being "no right way" of playing the game

1 (discretionary)

A discretionary method is a trading method where little or no mechanical tools and procedures are used to decide the trades. A discretionary trader applies a solid ruleset basing on a flexible interpretation of the market

1 (PLEX)

A Pilot License Extension (PLEX) is an item that adds 30 days of game time to an EvE Online account. It is freely traded like any other in game item. CCP accepts to convert in game PLEXES to real money in case disasters and emergencies happen.

1 (NEISIN)

A New Eden Interstellar Securities Identification Number (NEISIN) uniquely identifies a security. While its structure is identical and strictly compliant with "real life" ISINs, NEISINs are tailored to New Eden investments and contracts.
